Under the proposed deal, Addison Gilbert would be required to remain open as an acute-care facility for at least three years.
The report said an acute-care hospital in Massachusetts must offer eight mandatory services within an emergency department to be licensed as “acute-care,” and NHS CEO Ken Hanover said the affiliation has committed to keep those eight essential services.
