Jersey City Medical Center Bids $104M for Christ Hospital

Jersey City (N. J.) Medical Center has collaborated with Community Healthcare Associates in Bloomfield, N.J., to offer a $104 million bid on Christ Hospital, also in Jersey City, according to a Jersey Journal report.

Jersey City Medical’s offer comes after Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare Services’ placed a bid last summer. Prime’s purchase, currently under regulatory review, would convert Christ into a for-profit entity — a controversial issue in the community.
