In 2005, Mr. Brooks donated $500,000 to Integris under the belief its Yukon facility would be renamed in her honor. However, he claims he was informed in 2008 that the donation would instead be used for an earmarked expense. The hospital claimed the donation was made without restrictions.
The jurors ordered the hospital to return the $500,000 donation and pay an additional $500,000 in damages and attorneys’ fees.
