Both community hospitals are now divisions under the operating license of LIJMedicalCenter based in New Hyde Park. They have been renamed Long Island Jewish Forest Hills and Long Island Jewish Valley Stream.
By partnering with one of Northwell Health’s largest tertiary hospitals, Forest Hills and Valley Stream hospitals will benefit from:
- Brand awareness and recognition among healthcare consumers
- A more consistent and integrated patient experience across all three LIJ Medical Center campuses, which also include Cohen Children’s Medical Center in New Hyde Park and Zucker Hillside Hospital in Glen Oaks
- An improved communication network for decision-making and better patient follow-up across the five hospitals
Jobs, services and leadership at the Forest Hills and Valley Stream locations are not affected by the merger with LIJMedicalCenter.
