The CEO of Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome, Ga., is disappointed with Polk Medical Center's selection of Floyd County and Floyd Healthcare Management to take over the hospital next year, according to a Rome News-Tribune report.
Redmond, which is owned by HCA, has invested nearly $15 million in Polk, located in Cedartown, Ga., over the last 15 years. Polk selected Floyd County as its leaser four months before contracts were set to expire with Redmond.
Redmond CEO John Quinlivan said his organization was willing to do "everything that Floyd offered to, and then some," according to the report. Mr. Quinlivan claims that consultants never came back to HCA/Redmond to ask if they would be willing to do a lease arrangement, which is what Polk ultimately favored and selected with Floyd County.
