Here are four things to know:

  1. Massillon Mayor Kathy Catazaro-Perry confirmed to IndeOnline.com two organizations met with her and other city officials to present their proposals for the hospital Aug. 20, while one group is slated to meet with them Aug. 27.
  1. Ms. Catazaro-Perry declined to identify the three organizations, citing privacy concerns that could cause the deal-making to fall through. She also declined to state where the organizations were headquartered.
  1. City officials reportedly fielded interest in taking over the shuttered hospital from five or six organizations earlier this summer. A final decision may come as early as next week after the third group presents its proposal, the mayor said, according to the report.
  1. Brentwood, Tenn.-based Quorum Health, a spinoff of Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems, announced the hospital’s closure in January and shuttered the facility the following month. In May, the city council approved a measure to acquire the $25 million hospital and its assets from Quorum for $1.
