Why Convert to a PCMH? 3 Reasons

Converting a physician practice into a patient-centered medical home is no easy task. So why should groups consider going through the process? 1. Improved patient satisfaction. Dr. Crabtree told the Kansas City Business Journal patients especially enjoy the expanded access to care that comes along with being a PCMH.

2. Improved patient care. As part of the PCMH transformation, practices can focus on specific areas for improvement, like improving diabetic patients’ blood sugar control, according to the report.

3. Improved payment model. Many payers will provide a financial incentive to practices that start down the path to becoming a PCMH, according to the report.
