The letter of intent allows the organizations to begin the formal due diligence process and explore potential benefits of an affiliation during the course of several months.
The organizations began discussing a potential partnership in early 2016.
“Having the VNA of Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties join the network would give us the opportunity to better coordinate patient care wherever it is delivered and improve outcomes for the residents of those two counties,” said John Brumsted, MD, president and CEO of the UVM Health Network. “As we move away from the fee-for- service world, this type of integration is essential.”
