The LCME is the accrediting body for medical education programs in the U.S. It is made up of 19 voting members, including 15 medical educators, administrators and practicing physicians; two medical students; and two public members.
Dr. Ganzel’s term will begin July 1 and will last three years.
“I am honored that the LCME has selected me for the important task of surveying medical schools that are scheduled for accreditation review, and I view this appointment as one of the highlights of my career,” she said, according to the report.
