The school will be modeled after East Lansing-based Michigan State University’s program which offers both allopathic and osteopathic degrees. NSU plans to accept its first class of 50 students in 2017. The school plans for total enrollment to grow to about 125 students within the first four years, according to the report.
NSU will offer the fourth allopathic medical school in South Florida, and be the only university in the Southeast and the first in Florida to offer both osteopathic and allopathic medical school programs, according to the report.
