Mission Health to offer urgent care at primary care prices

Ashevhille, N.C.-based Mission Health System is opening four primary care locations that will operate similar to urgent care clinics — they will be open on evenings and weekends for walk-in appointments — but will bill patients for normal primary care visits, according to a local news report from ABC-affiliate WLOS.

The initiative, called Mission My Care Now, will help patients access primary care for low-acuity needs, but avoid the higher costs associated with urgent care and retail clinics, according to the report. Each Mission My Care Now location is fully integrated with the system's EHR, so treatment remains streamlined with a patient's normal primary care provider, according to the system's website.

Locations will be open everyday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Clinics will provide care for minor injuries and illnesses, chronic disease treatment, anxiety and depression, as well as lab and radiology services.
