Howard University to provide medical services in United Medical Center

Howard University and United Medical Center, both in Washington, D.C., will forge a partnership under which the university will share physicians with UMC and provide medical services in certain specialties, according to a Washington Business Journal report.

The collaboration between UMC and the university’s medical school will provide neurology, infectious disease and otolaryngology services to patients at the city-owned hospital, Washington, D.C., officials said, according to the article.

The partnership was described as “a powerful symbol” by Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser, the report states.
