The $7.2 million facility is operated by Tucson-based Northwest Medical Center, a 300-bed hospital owned by Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems. It is open 24/7 and designed to serve patients who reside within a 10-mile radius who previously had to travel 30 to 40 minutes to a hospital, according to the report.
Though the Northwest Emergency Center does not have inpatient beds, it is designed to treat life-threatening situations as well as urgent-care level complaints. It accepts Medicare, Medicaid and pediatric patients, according to the report.
