Breaking down national physician and non-physician clinician distribution by state, county or metropolitan area, the AMA’s Health Workforce Mapper highlights areas in need of healthcare professionals to enhance patient access. The tool will aid residents, medical students and lawmakers in making healthcare decision, according to the AMA.

The mapping tool allows users to layer hospital locations, medical specialty, practice type, shortage areas, population information and landmarks.

Only AMA members have free, full access. Non-members can use a limited version displaying non-physician data.
