5. Delaware: 38 percent
6. Maryland: 38 percent
7. New York: 38 percent
8. Illinois: 37 percent
9. Vermont: 37 percent
10. Alaska: 36 percent
11. Colorado: 36 percent
12. New Mexico: 36 percent
And here are the 10 states with the lowest percentage of women physicians:
1. Idaho: 23 percent
2. Utah: 25 percent
3. Wyoming: 26 percent
4. Nevada: 26 percent
5. Mississippi: 26 percent
6. South Dakota: 27 percent
7. North Dakota: 27 percent
8. Montana: 27 percent
9. Arkansas: 28 percent
10. Alabama: 28 percent
