Here are four things to know.
1. A number of Republican senators have expressed concerns about the direction of the American Health Care Act, which was unveiled Monday, according to the report.
2. At least two conservative senators indicated they would not vote for the measure, while four GOP senators from Medicaid expansion states are worried about potential changes to the program, Politico reports. Additionally, moderate senators are worried about future funding for Planned Parenthood, the report states.
3. More than six senators interviewed by Politico Tuesday did not strongly indicate whether they would support the AHCA.
“It would be hard to conceive of anything that would be as bad as Obamacare. Anything like this is going to be an improvement,” an undecided Republican senator told the publication. “It’s just: By doing this, do we forgo what we could have done better? That’s the question.”
4. Senate Republicans said many lawmakers are not likely to back the AHCA without a formal score from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, providing a cost estimate for the plan and an indication of how many Americans would gain or lose insurance under it, according to Politico.
