Trump supports idea to include ACA mandate repeal in tax reform

President Donald Trump tweeted his support Wednesday for an idea to include an ACA mandate repeal within tax reform legislation.

“Wouldn’t it be great to repeal the very unfair and unpopular individual mandate in ObamaCare and use those savings for further tax cuts…for the middle class. The House and Senate should consider ASAP as the process of final approval moves along. Push biggest tax cuts EVER!” President Trump tweeted.

Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., first proposed the idea of including repeals of the ACA’s individual and employer insurance mandates in a tax reform bill, and though Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, supported the idea, he said it would be nearly impossible for Democrats to support.
