The spine center will combine services from St. Elizabeth’s other locations as well as services from St. Luke’s Hospitals, which St. Elizabeth acquired a year ago.

According to the report, by consolidating the services into one location, St. Elizabeth can boost its competitive edge in Northern Kentucky and reduce costs. Such consolidations have saved the hospital system millions of dollars.

The savings from the consolidation will be used to fund a new electronic medical records system, which may cost as much as $100 million, according to the report.
