The court said jurors had ample evidence to find Mr. Urciuoli guilty of bribery. The former CEO was sentenced in April 2009 to three years in prison but was allowed to remain free pending the outcome of his appeal.
Mr. Celona received around $260,000 from Roger Williams Medical Center between 1998 and 2004, according to the report. Mr. Urciuoli has been convicted of fraud and conspiracy twice, though the appeals court in the 2008 trial reversed the verdict because of flawed jury instructions.
