Michael Israel, president and CEO of Westchester, said in a news release “the new name highlights the role the organization will play in the future, a healthcare partnership to care for the residents of the Hudson Valley region today and far into the future.”
In February, a bankruptcy judge approved the sale of 333-bed Saint Francis to Westchester in a deal valued around $40 million. Saint Francis filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in December.
Officials for both organizations expect the transaction will close May 9.
