According to the report, RegionalCare’s contract requires the health system to build its replacement Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Lauderdale County, but the system has also been considering lots in Colbert County. If the health system chooses to build the facility in Colbert County, an amendment to the contract to reflect the location change would be required.
The health system has until the end of this year to determine the proposed hospital’s location as well as submit a certificate of need to the state.
