Salinas Valley (Calif.) Memorial Hospital has announced a layoff of as many as 120 hospital workers, according to a Mercury News report.
About 40 nurses are expected to be cut, and the rest of the layoffs will hit unit assistants, clerical workers, housekeepers and nutrition workers. The hospital is cutting jobs as part of an effort to reduce operating costs, according to the report.
