It was reported that Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center had been hemorrhaging money for several years, and that in the six-month period ended June 30, the hospital had lost $7.6 million.
According to Vishnu Chundi, MD, the incoming president of the hospital’s staff of doctors, Presence Health CEO Sandra Bruce is considering a plan to convert the hospital into an outpatient center while keeping its emergency room open. The new proposal would result in the number of beds at the hospital being reduced, outpatient services being expanded and some patients being transferred to Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, according to the report.
