Hospital CEO Tom Schauer said employees were allowed to voluntarily participate in the workforce reduction, and 32 opted to do so.
Departments and employees “across the board” were reportedly affected by the layoffs, according to the report.
“The implementation of the Affordable Care Act, changes in federal and state regulations forced a significant change in the hospital utilization resulted in less reimbursements. Therefore, we were forced to make tough decisions,” Mr. Schauer said in the report.
