Richard Herrick, CEO of the New York State Health Facilities Association, said in the report, may questions have arisen from the transfers including, most importantly, “who pays for what?”
The New York Department of Health has said it will compensate both receiving and transferring institutions, but uncertainty remains about how payment will be split between the institutions. It is currently examining several possible reimbursement models, and will ensure any final model meets federal guidelines.
