Ohio Hospitals Mirror Trend of Increasing Advertising Spending

Three Dayton, Ohio-based hospitals spent a combined $9.22 million on advertising and promotion in 2010, which is 3 percent higher than 2009, according to a Dayton Daily News report.

The advertising boost mirrors a national trend, as U.S. hospitals spent more than $717 million on advertising and promotion in the first six months of 2011, which is up more than 20 percent from the first six months of 2010.

Premier Health Partners and Kettering Health Network said their spending on ads is on pace to be flat with last year, but Children’s Medical Center of Dayton was up 9 percent, according to the report.
