National Nurses United, which represents the nurses, announced HCA agreed to the formation of a Professional Practice Committee as part of the contract. The committee will include selected registered nurses and will make recommendations to HCA management on improving patient care. HCA management also agreed to minimum staffing levels by patient severity level, according to NNU.
The contract also calls for an “equitable wage step” and grade system based on years of RN experience and protects again forced overtime, according to the union.
