As a result, hospitals should begin to develop an integrated strategy to achieving patient engagement. 1. Employs the use of technology.
2. Can be implemented within the inpatient environment.
3. Extends patient-facing communications across the continuum of care
4. Is actually effective at motivating patient involvement in care and educating patients about their care role.
5. Is designed to reach all patients, including the most vulnerable and traditionally underserved.
