The legislation is an effort to curb opioid use by teenagers who often take opioids from friends’ or relatives’ bottles. State Rep. Joe Bellino, R, argued lockable bottles could prevent more than 150,000 teens from accessing opioids.
The bill would also apply to Schedule II drugs such as ADHD medication and medical marijuana.
