Payors, who have been calling for 1.58 rate increase, have not yet responded to the offer, but “we’re hopeful that with us coming down a little bit, [payors] will also show some flexibility,” a hospital association official said.
Each 1 percent increase for Maryland hospitals provides $136 million more in funding.
Based on the hospital-payor negotiations, the Maryland Health Services Cost Review Commission will adopt a final payment level by June 24.
