In early June a Superior Court judge ruled against Mr. LePage’s lawsuit to delay implementation, and the administration appealed, sending the case to the state Supreme Court. The Supreme Court’s ruling did make a decision on the merits of Mr. LePage’s lawsuit but instead sent his appeal back down to the Superior Court to resolve  outstanding questions.

Mr. LePage has vetoed Medicaid expansion in Maine six times due to a lack of state funding, though he also vetoed a bill that would have provided $60 million in program funding for the first year.
