Mr. Davidge was CEO of Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center for nearly three decades, from June 1979 to March 2008. During his tenure, the hospital doubled in size and added a number of services, including the Tau Center, OLOL Elderly Housing Complex, Lake Primary Care Physicians, St. Clare Manor Nursing Home, Lake After Hours and Lake Imaging Center, according to the report.
“Bob guided the growth of the medical center to become more than just a hospital. Even if decisions weren’t popular, he put the needs of patients first,” Scott Wester, who replaced Mr. Davidge as CEO at the Lake, told The Advocate. “He also believed deeply in the goodness of our community, viewing our ministry as an incredible responsibility to serve everyone. He expected excellence and integrity always.”
In addition to his duties as CEO of the Lake, Mr. Davidge served in the Air Force for 36 years, earning the rank of colonel.
