Kindred Hospital Northeast-Natick, which is part of a larger organization of transitional care and other types of hospitals, closed June 26 after its host hospital, MetroWest, ended the lease. The 23-bed hospital in Natick stopped accepting new admissions June 15.
“We explored several options to move Natick to another location, but determined it was not feasible,” Amber Hester, CEO of Kindred Hospital Boston North Shore, said in a news release. “We are confident that we will continue to serve the community through our other Kindred hospitals in Boston, Stoughton and Peabody and our additional lines of service.”
Ms. Hester told the Boston Business Journal that nearly half of the Natick employees found jobs at other Kindred locations within Massachusetts, and that Kindred “continue[s] to work with employees on finding appropriate placement.”
