KFF poll: 62% of voters not confident Trump will improve healthcare costs

Most voters (62 percent) do not believe President Donald Trump will be able to deliver on promises to improve healthcare and lower healthcare costs, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation's latest Health Tracking Poll.

The Kaiser Family Foundation conducts monthly polls among voters on healthcare issues. The October poll was conducted the week of Oct. 7.

Here are three more insights on what voters think of the Trump administration's healthcare agenda:

  • Confidence in the Trump healthcare agenda is highly partisan. Most Republicans remain "very" or "somewhat" confident President Trump will be able to achieve better healthcare at a lower cost.
  • Only 37 percent of adults know President Trump promised in April to produce an alternative for the ACA. Those who were aware of the promise were more likely to be Republican.
  • Within the cohort aware of President Trump's promise, few voters believed the president would deliver a plan before the end of the year.
