Interim CFO Ron Walker said the hospital will end the 2011 fiscal year in the black but stated the hospital had sharp declines in collections in recent months. According to the report, United Medical center had $4.9 million and $5.8 million in cash for July and August, respectively. What’s more, the hospital is facing delayed Medicaid payments of $3.7 million and won’t see the money until mid-September.
Mr. DeLisi expressed hospital leaders are working to cut expenses and does not want to rely on funding from the city.
