The Stephens County (Ga.) Hospital Authority will abandon its campaign to block Ty Cobb Healthcare System from building a hospital in Lavonia, Ga., according to a report in the Athens Banner-Herald.
The Hospital Authority had asked a hearing officer to overturn a certificate of need for the Ty Cobb project, claiming it would take away existing patients. But the hearing officer found in favor of Ty Cobb and the hospital authority had until Monday to appeal that finding.
