Mr. Landry was arrested in June for filing false public records and conspiracy to file false records for St. Charles District Attorney Harry Morel Jr. Mr. Morel asked Mr. Landry to sign off on community service paperwork for a woman who had not completed the work, according to the report. Mr. Morel was accused of granting leniency to the woman in exchange for sexual favors, according to the report. He was sentenced to three years in prison for this and his attempts to obstruct an FBI investigation into his misconduct, according to the report.
Mr. Landry agreed to resign for his involvement in the case, as well as complete 129 hours of community service and pay $2,500 in fines, according to the report. He will not go to trial.
