Hillsdale Community Health Center changes name

Hillsdale (Mich.) Community Health Center will change its name to Hillsdale Hospital in 2016, according to Hillsdale Daily News.

"We've simply outgrown our name," said Duke Anderson, president and CEO of Hillsdale Hospital, according to the report. "Our longstanding mission is to provide quality, compassionate healthcare throughout the communities we serve. We've fulfilled this through constantly improving technology, services and by embracing growth. Now our name better suits what we've become."

The hospital's director of organizational development, J.J. Hodshire, said changing Hillsdale Community Health Center's name has been a topic of discussion for the last 20 years, according to the report. In 2013, the hospital formed a committee comprised of community members, board members, staff and stakeholders to review the idea of a name change.

After Hillsdale College's marketing team conducted research, they found the hospital was referred to as Hillsdale Hospital around the community.

"It simply made sense to change the name," said Mr. Hodshire.

Along with the name change, the hospital is unveiling a new logo, which contains the words "caring," "commitment" and "community."

New signage will be put in place around the hospital between Christmas and New Year's Day, with other changes occurring throughout the year, according to the report.
