The new outpatient center will offer numerous outpatient services, including women’s health and sports medicine, and will be operated by Henry Ford Medical Group, which plans to recruit 30 new physicians for the center.
Cottage Hospital’s three inpatient units will be closed in phases and employees are expected to be placed in other openings throughout the system, according to the report.
Henry Ford acquired Cottage Hospital from Marriottsville, Md.-based Bon Secours Health in Oct. 2007.
The hospital lost money in 2009 and its inpatient volume growth did not meet expectations, according to the report.
