Former Federation of American Hospital leaders dies

Mike Bromberg, who led the Federation of American Hospitals from 1969 to 1994, died over the weekend.

Mr. Bromberg's 25-year tenure as FAH leader was followed by his service as vice chairman of the FAH board, a position he held from 1995 until his death.

"Mike was a trailblazer whose career spanned the most dynamic years of policy development and growth of the American healthcare system. He contributed mightily to the role of hospitals, as well as the financing and delivery of care for patients, and the shaping of FAH as a major actor in the nation's healthcare policy development and implementation," said current FAH President and CEO Chip Kahn in a statement.
