Mr. Sexton, who stepped down from the top role at All Children’s in 2004, asked for his name to be taken off an administration building after his son Michael was fired from the hospital. Michael worked as All Children’s Hospital’s director of creative services. A hospital spokesperson declined to discuss the term’s of Michael’s departure from the organization, according to the report.
The J. Dennis Sexton Building will now be known as the 500 Building, according to the report. The hospital sent an email to employees noting that Mr. Sexton also asked the All Children’s foundation not use his family’s name in any fundraising mailings.
