The hospital’s approximately 420 nurses authorized the strike in January. The nurses have been working without benefits and a contract since Jan. 1, when their contract with the hospital’s parent, MediSys, expired. Temporary benefits were not provided, according to the report.

Under the deal, the nurses will not receive raises in 2012, but will receive increases in 2013 and 2014. They will also pay for a portion of their health plans, but will not have to contribute to their pensions, according to the report.
