The proposal for the new academic medical center, which would collaborate with Florida Atlantic University’s new medical school, is due for review by Florida’s Agency for Healthcare Administration on Sept. 7.
In the report, Mr. Couris said he expects to challenge the hospital application because the services to be provided are already offered in the region, and JMC already works with both Scripps and FAU.
“The fact of the matter is, the 80-bed hospital being built is everything we already do,” Mr. Couris said in the report.
