The hospital and the workers, represented by the Service Employees International Union, have been negotiating a new contract for eight months. The workers recently notified the hospital of plans to hold a “candlelight rally” on Nov. 2 to raise awareness over what the union calls unfair wages.
In a statement, the hospital said it continues to negotiate in good faith with the service workers and “has conducted comprehensive wage analyses that show caregivers are paid at competitive, market-based wages,” according to the report.
