This payment is part of the hospital’s lease with the city and county. The health district is negotiating a purchase of two buildings and a parking area to consolidate its services in one location. Currently, the health district’s public nursing and emergency preparedness services are located in Marion General Hospital.
The Marion County Board of Commissioners has agreed to assign the hospital’s relocation subsidy to the health district. The Marion City Council must also approve the subsidy for the health district’s plans to move forward.
