The hospital said it let 120 architects, engineers and planners go until there is more certainty about CPMC’s project, which was expected to break ground in October. Hospital spokesperson Sam Singer said the consultants cost $3 million per month, according to the report.
An agreement to bring in a mediator to resolve issues between CPMC and the City of San Francisco has caused a stall in development plans. A vote on the project’s environmental impact report has been postponed twice, and a mediator has not yet been selected.
