Question: What technologies or innovations are you most excited about today?

Darren Dworkin: I remain most excited about analytics. Yes, I know it is talked about all the time…but among the many technologies that got to shine as the COVID-19 pandemic took hold was our use of real-time data in dashboards and the use of predictive tools to help us plan for volume, supplies, staffing, and care of our community. It was amazing to see and I look forward to being able to build upon this work in the years ahead now that everyone from our front line staff to our executive leaders has seen the power of real-time information in action.

Q: Which tech partnerships and investments will be most essential over the next 5 years?

DD: Pilots are great for the latest shining object, but agile IT is built around solid platforms. The best partnerships and investments will be in our core platforms that drive our innovation, automation, care delivery, and of course cost containment.

Q: How do you view revenue cycle management differently today than you did six months ago?

DD: As we continue to digitally connect with our patients and really establish our digital front door, it only further emphasizes the importance of thinking about revenue cycle not as a starting on the backend of the encounter, but from the moment we connect with our patients and their families.

Q: What is one bold prediction you have about the future of healthcare?

DD: Home-based diagnostics will change everything!
