c. The need to reduce fixed costs and overhead to better adapt to volume fluctuations
Q: What’s one lesson you learned early in your career that has helped you lead in healthcare?
JW: The best decisions are made with the patient in mind.
Q: How has the COVID-19 pandemic affected your organization’s value-based initiatives or highlighted their importance?
JW: COVID-19 has helped us focus more on our value-based initiatives including the use of virtual care, preventative services, and technology for 24/7 care options.
Q: If you could pass along one piece of advice to another hospital leader, what would it be?
JW: Listen more and talk less.
