Question: What is the No. 1 principle you uphold and practice to effectively lead a team?
Uli Chettipally: Every person on the team has strengths. It is the team leader’s responsibility to figure out those strengths in individuals, to make sure the right people are on the team and to coordinate them to form a strong unit.
Q: What does healthcare need more of? Less of?
UC: Healthcare needs more data science to lead clinical practice. It needs more people to lead the change and fewer people to maintain the status quo.
Q: What is one topic or issue you’ve been investing time in to better understand as of late?
UC: I have been studying how artificial intelligence and machine learning can help clinicians at the point of care with clinical decision support to improve healthcare outcomes.
