Question: As a leader, how do you stay connected to the actual work that is being done – and not just by watching others execute, but by executing yourself? If so, how do you balance between leading and executing personally?

Ben Patel: Stay connected through out the life cycle of the project or program. Leverage technical expertise to help architect the solution. Identify outcome metrics with the stakeholder & users to measure the value delivered. Balance the leading and execution by influencing and motivating the team towards the correct path or solution.

Q: What does healthcare need more of? Less of?

BP: More Patient Engagement and Less bureaucracy.

Q: What is one topic or issue you’ve been investing time in to better understand as of late?

BP: Price and quality transparency for patients.
